Shux,

You and I agree on almost nothing and I too think that SETI is a waste of time.... but....

MAN... YOU BUILT A SWWWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET Machine! VERY, VERY Nice!

What sort of work will it be doing? Is it a file or web server or do you have some other more proprietary use for it? I believe that the motherboard you are using has dual channel u160 built in, no? Are you using that for the 2x9.2G's? Are they mirrored or just single drives? What made you go with Tbirds and not MPs?

Thanks... and NICE machine!

Joe its going to be a secondary SQL server for 20 users. The 2-9's are RAID 1 for the OS and the 3-36's are for the data, the 3200S RAID card has 2 channels and the 9 are on 0 and the 36's are on 1. Its a cheap way of doing a decent SQL server. I would like to have a RAID 1 for OS, RAID 10 for the LDF's and a RAID 5 for the Data all on seperate cards but to build that for a small company? That would be to much for them. I'll usually go to a Compaq ML370, ML530 or ML570 depending on the size of the client base and budget. As far as plain T-Birds vs MP's, availabilty and price, the client here's 1.33GHz, dual even and they are happy. BTW Joe, we get along just fine, when we get along. :D
