built a new computer, problem

ok I built a new computer. q6600 cpu, Seagate 7200,8800 card, crucial ballistix ram, corsair 620w power supply, tuniq tower, p35-ds3r. Here is the order of what I did.

1. put cpu on motherboard, installed tuniq tower

2. put motherboard in case

3. put video card on motherboard

4.put disc drive in case

5. put hard drive in case

6.plug everything in

the video card has 2 power connectors running to the psu, the disc drive has 1 4 pin connector from the psu and a big ass cord running to the motherboard. The hard drive has 1 4 pin connector to the psu and one orange cable connected to the motherboard. Now I was pretty careful to do everything really carefully but when I plug the psu in, hit power, absolutely nothing happens. not even a quiver, the freakin purolator guy chucked my stuff on the ground and I'm hoping that's not what did it. Is there any way to check if something's broken or am I missing something else. thanks.
I also connected a 24 pin power cord to the motherboard, and a 4 pin(atx) in case you thought that might be it.

Plugged the PSU into the wall too? 😛 Heh, for real though, does the mobo light come on or not? That would mean it's at least getting power. If it didn't go on, then I'd start pointing at either the PSU or the mobo.

well where is the mobo light? and will it turn on regardless of whether or not the computer is turned on? it obviously is plugged into the wall, man this is so demoralising, I waited for this for so long. The guy who delivered it definitely chucked the box containing the psu and the motherboard. How do I check that either one is broken or not?

does the power supply have an on / off switch you might have forgot to throw ?

is the power supply putting out voltage ? check it with a meter.

The mobo led will go on as soon as it gets power. You could try removing components, and see what kind of beep codes you get ...
