Okay, after more hot deals than I can remember, and too many conversations with my wife explaining why we NEED more computer stuff, I now find myself with a new project. Thanks to offers too good to pass up, I now have an extra 19" monitor, hard drive, speakers, etc, etc, to build another box. But I also have a force feedback wheel and force feedback joystick that I rarely used. So I got to thinking and decided that I needed to build my own simulator setup.
Has anybody here done something like this already, and maybe have links or pics of their design? I'm going to go down to the junk yard and pick up a nice seat out of a sports car to use, and I want to be able to use both the wheel and the joystick interchangeably inside. If possible I want to make it completely enclosed, including air vents, although that might be excessive. My wife thinks just the idea is excessive, but has learned to let me try just about whatever I want. I don't want one of those completely realistic airplane cockpits with tons of switches, just a really cool, comfy, gaming only environment. All ideas welcome. Thanks.
