Building permit question!

For all those who might have some information in this area. I hired a company to build me a screen porch. They already filed the proper FL building permits, but have not done the work yet. Now, I am thinking that I would like to increase the size of the screen porch by a few feet. Would that require a totally new permit to be filed or can an existing permit be modified? Any thoughts?

Rules for this type of thing vary so much that you should really ask your local building department.

Where I live in FL the inspector wouldn't notice a couple of feet one way or the other. Call the installer and see what he thinks.
