Building PC without case or tech station

Do not laugh but I sold my case to help fund a second GTX670. I am going to be running naked for a while. My concern is that, without top support, is the PCI-E connection itself durable enough to hold a graphics card? Obviously the motherboard would be lying down, but I'worried about the stress of the cable connections (especially the 670's power connectors which are on top of the graphics card causing maximum torque, combined with the Corsair 750M's super stiff straight PCIE power plug adding even more leverage). I am not too worried about dust as I am armed with a 6pack of computer duster.

You'd rather have 670 SLI than house your components safely in a case...? Couldn't you just wait until you had enough money to not have to sell the case? 😀 Seriously man...

I hope you don't have any pets running around.

You might consider picking up an old used case on craigslist or something really cheap. You are risking some serious damage that could end up costing you much more in the long run if something happens.

Ever heard of Murphy? He has this law. If something can go wrong, it will.

If you need a case and somewhat closer to me in the US, Ill donate you one. Just pay the shipping. Its a Bitfenix Merc Alpha.

Rvenger thanks for the very generous offer but I'd feel bad taking it as I'm old enough to have a job. I'm going to try to convince my dad to let me use his shop tools to build something.

Haha, you would probably be doing me a favor. 😛

If you ever need it, just shoot me a PM.
