I'm the process of building my new computer and I would like someone to check if everything is compatible.

AMD ATHLON 64 3200+ PROCESSOR S939 VENICE 2.0GHZ 512K L2 CACHE 90NM RETAIL BOX

SEAGATE BARRACUDA 7200.7 120GB HARD DRIVE 7200RPM SATA W/NCQ 8MB 8.5MS 3.5IN 5YEARS MFR WARRANTY

ASUS A8N-E MOTHERBOARD ATX S939 NFORCE4 ULTRA DDR PCI-E16 PCI-E4 2PCI-E1 3PCI SATA RAID GBLAN SOUND

CORSAIR VALUE SELECT PC3200 1GB 2X512MB DDR400 184PIN DIMM DUAL CHANNEL MEMORY KIT

CONNECT3D RADEON X800 XL PCI-E 256MB DDR VGA DVI TV-OUT VIDEO CARD

And a SONATA II case (already on the way).

Also, I'd appreciate if someone could answer these questions.

Is the 3000+ worth getting instead of 3200+? I hear they have almost identical performances? I'm not planning on doing any overclocking though.

I will be using my computer mostly for gaming, is the SATA harddrive worth getting? Is the installation the same as IDE?

How does the X800 XL compate to 6800GT? What's the better choice atm?

Thanks in advance.

get dfi ultra-d/epox ep-9npa ultra w/ ocz vx by any chance? 3000 should oc around the same level as the 3200(lower multiplier) does, so it's your choice if you want to save alittle more. dunno about the sata questions because im stuck with pata and currently find the speed very tolerable. x800xl performs a tad lower than the 6800gt, and is $100 less than the 6800gt in pci-e the last time i heard, there might be a price change between that time. but the 6800gt has sm 3.0, which future games will be equiped with. your rig will be monster if you get what i stated at the very beginning of this post :p everything else looks ok, unless you want a 250gig 7200.8

edit: you could get the oem cpu for less and then get an xp-90al oem w/ as5 and panaflo at jab-tech.com for cheap.

 Everything should work together

The 3000+ is cheaper than the 3200+. The 3200+ will have a little performance increase from the 3000+ as per their ratings.

SATA cables are easier to organize than IDE cables, says some people. Performance is limited to the drive.

The x800XL is better bang for the buck compared to the 6800GT. The 6800GT will outperform the x800XL in all non-preferenced tests.
Generally, 6800GT > x800XL performancewise at stock speeds.
Bang for buck wise, x800XL > 6800GT.
Finally, stick with the x800XL unless you want to spend more for the 6800GT.
