Building Office Computer

$600-$800 Budget for a computer used mainly for internet surfing and word proccesing. I would like like to have 1 gig of value memory and a VERY reliable mobo. No sound, but i would like to be able to upgrade with sound later on. I'm thinking 3800+ x2 manchester?? The mobo will need to have an agp slot. Most likely a cheap $20-$40, already have a power supply..... I have an old radeon 7000 that i will use untill later on. Advice?

you wont need to spend a fortune for just net surfing and app. a p3 system would do all this just fine. but a more modern option would be an msi xpress 200 board, integrated is like an x300 ati card, so you wont be needing that 7000. plus you'll have the ability to upgrade the card with a pci-e model if you please. venice 3000+ will be sufficient. if that power supply is generic, get rid of it. a sparkle 350w comes cheap at newegg. obviously ram will be corsair vs 2x512. hard drive depending on what you plan on putting on there, should be a seagate. 250gb 7200.8 is what i always recommend, but not everyone dl big files into their system. do you need any peripheral stuff? operating system?
