Hi folks

I'm in the process of building a new P4 system used mainly for Video Editing, MPEG2 rendering using CCE, Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects. No gaming here.

So what CPU should I be getting the: The current P4 HT 3.0 GHZ or the new Prescott CPU?

I've already purchased the ASUS P4P800 Deluxe MB which does support the current Intel P4 and the Prescott CPU.

Also which 2D video would you recommend? I need to drive 3 monitors and the current cards that support this are the Matrox Parhelia and Matrox P750.

TIA

Welcome to the forums. If you are planning on overclocking, I'd recommend going ahead and getting the 3.0C, which is a very good OCer. However, if you aren't going to OC, I would wait for the Prescott. And you will probably want to post a thread in the video card forum, about which Matrox card to get.

Why not just wait 16 days, and see how the Prescotts perform? You could probably get the P4 3.0 cheaper then too.
