Damn! I ordered the wrong kit.
RAM:
G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Intel Z170 Memory Kit F4-3000C15D-16GVKB
You should be fine, read bellow:
F4-3000C15D-16GVKB - G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2x8GB) Single Rank containing Hynix M-Die - JEDEC

I've often claimed to have had very good luck with my choice of ram with my Ryzen build, regardless of the fact that I didn't choose from QVL or do any sort of research prior to purchasing. When I assembled my build, I updated my ASRock AB350 Pro4 bios to the newest version at the time (I think 2.60) before I even installed Windows, and it loaded XMP 2933 without fault. The only problem being the odd-numbered CAS Latency issue with Ryzen boards; 15 defaulted to 16. That being said, I've even had fairly good luck overclocking the kit to 3200 with timings: 16-16-16-37-55-CR1 at 1.40v, but I haven't went into the secondary or tertiary timings yet to see how far I can push it.

I wanted to show my current progress at 2933. I've tightened the timings from the XMP default 16-16-16-35-51-CR1 at 1.35v to 14-14-15-35-51-CR1 at 1.35v with secondary or tertiary timings tightened as much as I can get them. I verify stability with Memtest86 - 10 passes of test #6 all cores parallel (takes about 20 minutes). I'll post screenshots of Ryzen Timing Checker along with Aida64's Cache and Memory Benchmark. I'm pretty sure my math is correct, feel free to double-check.

I figured it would work but when I saw for Intel it caught me off guard, thanks.

Are all G Skill Ripjaws V series working fine with zen?
All if my Ryzens and threadripper run on Flarex or (mostly) Trident Z or ripjaws, its virtually all the same ram.

Just as an alternative line of thought, we're so close to 5xx series chipset boards (PCIe 4.0, will be handy for faster SSD down the line, better USB etc), consider wait at least through the AMD keynote coming up shortly?

You can score a passable AM3 board to wait things out with your current stuff, then sell it as a complete combo later on.

Or, sell the 8350/ram/etc and score a cheap used workstation to get by with until the upcoming Zen2/3000 series hit the streets.

You could conceivably get a 5xx mobo, and get a cut rate deal on a 2700x if you so wanted, or go for 3700 or whatever.

Normally I'm not the biggest 'wait and see' type of guy, but we're so close to 500/Zen2 that it would be the least comfortable time for me to buy a 4xx/Zen/Zen+ or Intel anything until we see what the deal is with the new stuff. It's primed to be one of the bigger leaps in a long time in regards to features as well.

His machine died, he needs a new machine now.
Otherwise I 100% agree with what you said.

I may end up in the same spot.

Yep MB died and plus the deals on the stuff I feel are enough of an upgrade over my 8350 are pretty good right now. Technically I could fire up an old machine I have laying around and hobble along until then but I'd rather build a well priced machine now.

I wont be overclocking or setting up RAID so why would I not get the B450 below over the X470?

$109
ASRock B450 Steel Legend AM4 AMD Promontory B450 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

$129 (salel ends in 10hrs regular price i think was $160)
ASRock Fatal1ty X470 Gaming K4 AM4 AMD Promontory X470 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Better memory support, better quality.
Simply put the good quality B450 board cost only a little less than the X470 boards.
I was watching the Asrock Tiachi

Lots of very diverse suggestions, and while on the surface they seem different, in the end, ALL of them will work well.
I have my own so here they go.

Board:
Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi.
B450 chipset, Intel LAN, Realtek 1220 audio, Wifi + bluetooth, aRGB, dual m.2 slots, very good UEFI, sensible stock fan curves, aggressive precision boost 2.
No board comes close in features and performance at its price point. Keep the UEFI at F5 (AGESA PinnaclePi 1.0.0.6) as its memory compatibility is the best.

RAM:
If you can get a good kit of RAM based on Samsung B-die at a GREAT price, go for it, but when many good 16GB DDR4-3000 kits based on Hynix m-die are routinely at around $80, they deserves a second look.
A-Data Gammixx D10 ddr4-3000 or ddr4-3200 sets are 2666MHz Jedec chips. They reach the rated 3000 or 3200 with minimal effort, and in a board with AGESA PinnaclePi 1.0.0.6, they are great performers.

I personally find G-Skill RAM overrated (In general 2133 JEDEC chips vs 2400 for team or 2666 for adata) Getting them to xmp speed has always been harder than adata or team, at least in the AM4 boards I have used.

I also find MSI boards overrated, their claim to fame for B450 is the stronger VRMs, but without proper overclocking features they are of minimal use, and you are still stuck with a mediocre UEFI and lesser features.

Having said so, however, all the alternatives proposed will work fine. Some just make more sense ;)

I've been eyeing that one. It looks like a REALLY sweet board.

That's my current board, in this PC I'm typing this on. I like it a lot, it has great memory compatibility. (Just remember to set VSoC to "Normal" from "Auto" to remove the over-volt on that rail.)

Running 4x8GB Team Vulcan DDR4-3000, that even had a heck of a time running at 2933 in my ASRock AB350M Pro4 boards, with only two sticks, even.

Going to keep my 570 until AMD drops their new ones later this year. I almost pulled the trigger on a Vega 56 since the Gigabyte cards were down to 299 new but I decided to wait.

Going to give a non expert tip. Newegg has a Seasonic gold 750 watt for a little more before the rebate but a little less after the rebate

$95 up front, $80 after rebate

Thanks for all the input, here's what I have so far and cost is not really an issue.

Chip: 2600x $179 shipped

Damn! I ordered the wrong kit.
RAM:
G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) Intel Z170 Memory Kit F4-3000C15D-16GVKB

Still looking for a motherboard.
If cost isn't a issue why not buy the kits everyone recommended? Saw it was ripjaw v and thought it was the same? Also seems like x470 ultimate tachi is best? Paid 220 for mine but I bet they 180 now

They are $250 right now on newegg. If you got it at microcenter, that does not count since most of the world does not have a microcenter near them.

Cost to a certain degree, I don't use my home computers that much anymore other than some light gaming and web browsing so I don't really need a $2k system. The parts I bought are more then sufficient and when I get a new graphics cards that are coming out soon this system should be arguably 30 to 50 percent faster than my 8350 system I built back in 2012.

I refuse to shop newegg no point they used to be great and I would get the item same day I ordered but now I'd rather buy on Ebay or Amazon.. I got mine from amazon many months ago for 220 at most ulta x470 tachi. Wish I shop at micro center but I spend my days off in the snow or at the beach not driving to stores ;)
