did you actually do research into these parts or did you just select the highest priced parts off a website and put them together lol

-Look into the AMD Athlon 64s, they perform better than their Intel counterparts in almost any task.
-Do you need the second drive (the lite-on)? You can't make straight 1-1 backups of DVD movies anyway (if that was what you were looking to get the drive for).

Parts are good, prices are bad (if they are US dollars).

My first computer I made is quite similar. I had a enermax case, Seagate 160 gb 7200 rpm, 512 mb Corsair XMS ram, Asus Radeon 9600 xt, lite on cd-rw drive/dvd drive, p4p800 deluxe motherboard, and a ati radeon 7000 pci version for a triple monitor setup.

Little did i know, i could have saved ALOT of money equivelent to what I have now.

And drop the extended warranties; even if you have to shell out your own money to replace something, it'll be cheaper than all those warranties.

PS And I second the motion of asking if you thought this through. I'm looking at a $1,350 system with the following specs:

A64 3500+
1GB PC3200 Corsair Value RAM
Abit AV8
Maxtor 160GB SATA
NEC 16x DVD-burner
Antec Sonata w/380W PS
Sapphire Radeon X800 Pro

This is nearly 33% off of the cost of your system, leaving you $600 to get the monitor, and pocket the change and/or upgrade to better parts somewhere; it's already faster than your system not counting video, and if you swap out the Radeon for a GF 6800GT, it'll be a few $ cheaper, and only a couple of percentage points off of the X800 XT's performance.
