Hello Guys
I am planning to build a new pc under Rs.15k (under $320) in a week or so ,which includes :
1.motherboard(of any brand also supporting quad core processor & ddr3 for future upgrades --> preferably asus or gigabyte with decent overclocking capability),
2.intel core 2 duo processor(please suggest Ghz I should opt for),
3.atleast 2gb ram (suggest brand),
4.nvidia graphics card,
5.power supply unit
6.cases & cooling
Make it cheap
Should support latest games
Also give pricing for individual components if possible
Please help me out on this
Thanks to anandtech.com Great site for newbies

Welcome to the Anandtech forums first of all :)

Secondly, you should try the sticky here and fill it out to make it easier for the people trying to help you.

Third, only 320$ for a DDR3 machine? I don't think you'll even come close to keeping it that low.

You're dreaming, if you think you'll be able to build any computer, much less a gaming computer, for Rs. 15k. The minimum you'll need will be ~Rs. 40k, and closer to Rs. 50k, if you're wanting to use DDR3, along with a DDR3 motherboard.

i hate to pop your bubble, but the DDR3 ram alone would kill 1/2 to 2/3rds of your budget.

The DDR3 board would probably gobble your entire budget.

The Videocard would gobble about 4/5ths of your budget.

And the wolfdale class which i am gonna assume you are going after will eat up 1/3rd of your budget.

Set a more realistic budget, or change your build, as it is now, your only option is low budget line computer.

And you'd probably be lucky to get away with even a low end wolfdale.

Also I am confused choosing ASUS and GIGABYTE . I have came across duds sayin that Gigabyte Mbs are not that durable compared to ASUS . And GIGABYTE has some bootup problems . But on the other side of the coin GIGABYTE can be overclocked more easily . Is that true?

You're way under-budget.

E7200 -> $100
P5Q -> $100
9800GT -> $100 (on some super sale)
4GB DDR2 -> $50
Sonata 3 -> $70

You'll need $420, assuming you get everything on a hot deal sale IN U.S. (you have to be near a Fry's too). Buying stuff from overseas will make your pricing retail + premium (tariffs + custom fees + merchant profit). So you're looking to spend probably around $600 US equivalent at least. Good Luck.

It'll come down to the personal experience of some people who will give advice, which will change their opinion. Asus are as good as Gigabyte, both equally durable and overclockable. Pick based on budget.

Drop the 9800GT down to a Radeon 4670 so save some cash.

Not sure how much this will save considering OP is pricing/buying in Rupees(?). Would help if we knew OP's location/suppliers.

Cheap P35 board (P45 is probably too expensive for this build).
E5x00 or even E2xx0 to cut costs (OP shouldn't be worrying to much about "GHz", but OCing >3GHz should be straightforward).
2GB DDR2-800 (2x1GB will be fine if the motherboard allows 4 DIMMs total).
9800GT (probably worth pushing the budget here for gaming performance).
Case and PSU are going to have to be cheap - check your local b&m.
