Not overclocking.

Just want a very stable MB, lots of RAM, and good HDD

So, I would just need SATA drives then. How many HDD can I hook up to the ASUS A8V MB?

I will also have two Optical drives.

Thanks so much.

Since the ASUS A8V is not the complete name of the MB, what is the complete model name and I will do my own research and save everyone the headache.

If there happens to be more than one model, which one is the better?

Just glancing by, I'm guessing that your prices are for OEM chips and are (maybe) from crap companies if you can get them for that cheap...either that or they aren't winchestor core chips. DVD burner, NEC 3000 series, best around for around $70. For the Seagate harddrives, consider the Seagate Barracudas, otherwise get the Maxtor SATAII 16MB buffer for a hundred more ish. They rocks! Might also wanna take a look at Jpeyton's guide, its quite useful if you've been gone for a while and just got back into the game...its no longer stickied, but its always on the first or 2nd page. Hope that helps.

If you read back through the posts, the OCZ and Corsair were recommended. I found the Corsair on Newegg.

So NEC has the best DVD BURNER? I though PIONEER as a better burner.

DVD BURNERs

What is the best 16X DUAL LAYER on the market. $ is not an object but quality is the objective.
