In addition to what people said above, I think people like to post Newegg because they generally have a pretty low price, some of the best (most detailed and accurate) descriptions, user reviews, TONS of pictures, and more selection than most other sites. Newegg is a starting point for parts, which is why people post links to them.

Good point. Newegg always has a fair price and is a good reference. Use a site like pricewatch if you really want to shop around.
