do you have any (bad or good) experiences with some of these components and can you give me tips for the installation of them ?
any tips opinions are apreciated (exept for "get epox" everything is ordered etc so I'm not going to change my order 30 mins before I get it :D)

Hiya,

I've got most of my components, but not all, sitting in my living room waiting for assembly too.

Here's what I have:

Epox 8K7A
Athlon 1.2 GHz
Crucial DDR EEC 256 MB x 2
IBM GXP60 40 GB
MSI Starforce 831 geforce2 Pro 64 MB DDR video
Hercules Game theater XP soundcard (in the "mail")
Pioneer 106S DVD (also in the mail)
Promise TX2 Ultra 100 IDE controller (in the mail)
Mitsumi floppy
Enlight 72370x Midtower with 300 W PS
TT Volcano II CPU cooler
A bunch of 80 mm fans I can choose from, will probably pull the PC Power and cooling quiet one from my current box.
8.4 IBM Deskstar, my current main drive to by my next backup drive
Creative 8-4-32 CDRW from my current system
And heck, may bring over my old 5.25" floppy from my current system, if it's no hassle. It inevitably brings BSOD in my Win9x system, but hopefully my new Windows 2000 Pro can handle it.
Here's a site that has some pretty cool instructions, suggestions, etc., step-by-step on how to assemble, the whole process. I've printed it and marked it up with a yellow highlighter and will probably use it when I find the time to put my system together.

Good luck.

If you're using Arctic Silver out of the syringe, don't jizz it all over the core and bridges (not to mention your fingers) like yours truly did. Good thing for rubbing alcohol:eek:. I was using a new tube and pressure or something had built up on the plunger, so I pushed it a little and a bunch shot out. I guess that's why those guys on doctor shows squirt stuff in the air first. I had to douse most of the chip with rubbing alcohol to get it off, but it works just fine.

Just take your time and don't get in a hurry. Find a big area and a nice table where you can set all your stuff on. Ground yourself before touching any parts. You will probably need a screw driver, needle nose pliers, and maybe a few other tools. Just take your time!
