Do you guys have any suggestions as to what I should do before/during the build process? This is my first build ever, and I REALLY don't want to screw it up (obviously! ha ha). Should I download all the latest drivers/bios/etc before I get the parts and have them ready on a disc? Or should I put it all together, and pray that it works. Or what? Thanks a lot for your help/suggestions/etc.

just hook it up and tehn install drivers. That's what i do.

ha ha. well, it seems like a major thing, consider it's my first, and I don't want to mess anything up. I figure people with more experience know what to do in the little situations, but to a total newb, it could seem quite daunting, and trivial tasks to experienced builders are conundrums to newbs.

The only real tip I have is make sure you have the drivers installed before you try to get any updates over the internet since most new boards will not have the Lan card drivers installed by windows XP. Nothing more embarrasing than trying to figure out for half an hour why not getting internet connection. Once windows installs, install the drivers on the motherboard CD. Check the device manager to make sure there are no conflicts.

Your new board shouldn't have any problems with SATA drives that some of the older MB's did have.
