true enough, but the motherboard takes xeons and I found some a matching pair for £250 which I thought was quite reasonable. I've got two displays, a 23" LG Flatron W2234S which is so so and a Sony Bravia XBR4 which I use most of the time as I dont really need anything over 1080p... Do I?

I understand why you went with xeons so you could use the mac base...but multiple video cards for running a single 1080p monitor/tv is complete overkill. A single 6870 or gtx470 will run every current game at max settings on 1900x1080 without a problem. The only reason for xfire or sli is with a higher resolution or multi-monitor.

Posting for help with buying computer parts after already choosing everything and spending the money makes it look like you're bragging. To most savvy computer people on this forum price/performance matters way more than who can spend the most money. That is why you are getting such a poor reception with your post. It would but the processors I chose are the best my mobo would accept, plus my processors cost £250 westmere would have cost a he'll of a lot more and nehalem would be at least £500 per processor...

2x E5506 (Nehalem procs) in the US would be $457.98 US = £285.8267 (google converted)

Also, Google "Hackintosh" for reading about why you don't need a Mac to run Mac OS.

Why does everyone thi k I tried to spend loads of money it's ridiculous, I went with components that would improve performance, and as for posting after I built I wanted to check if I missed anything or if there were any bits I could I'm prove on not to brag...

Oh and I'm all about overkill when it comes to Graphics, more future proof... I didn't set out to spend maximum money I set myself a budget to see how I could do...

Hackintishes never run as well as Macs, I've had them before, read the hackintosh thread in all things apple the first post will detail problems... And those processors arnt for LGA 771 sockets like mine

OP, for future reference, brag threads have a tendency to backfire here at AT. People here are by-and-large interested in bang for the buck. Trifire and dual Xeons are not good bang for the buck. And yes, this is a brag thread, no matter in what terms you try to couch it.

Shut up, this is a thread for looking for help, obviously this isn't the forum to go for that, I'm not bragging as my setup is no where near perfect it's got loads of problems and I was looking for help obviously I was waisting my time thanks for nothing.

I said more future proof, not future proof, nothing is totally future proof, But it is true to say that it is a more future proof set up than say a 5770...

Good advice. I'm unaware of any true 120hz screens larger than 24" though.

I'd also add that you give a lot of attention to good sound, maybe look at your home theatre setup and see if you have room for improvement anywhere.
