Alright so I'm planning on building my first PC. I have a budget of $750, and do not need a monitor or PSU. I want it to have a DX10 video card, and a Core 2 Duo Processor. Also I will need to buy an operating system. This is what I have so far:

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16811119068 ($50)
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128012 ($115)
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819115015 ($165)
Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820231098 ($90)
HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16822135106 ($45)
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814150238 ($170)
= $635.00~
Plus Windows Vista which is about $100

Any adjustments or comments would be appreciated.

You could get this one...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128059

As per your request to order everything from NewEgg, do you really think it is worth spending more money for an 80GB hard drive instead of the 160GB? :D

Honestly, I have done a LOT of business with many e-tailers, and NewEgg is often NOT the cheapest place to buy a lot of things. There are a lot of other good places to shop, and many have good service. Outpost.com is certainly one of them.

Also, this is a good SATA DVD burner...

I'd go 64 bit for Vista. No legacy hardware, so no driver issues.

And I thought you didn't need a PSU?

EWW dont go AM2...Just get an E4400 for like $125ish. You can overclock that lil sucker to E6750 speeds easy!

So

CPU = $125
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819115014

Motherboard = $95
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128059

Ram = $89 w/$30 MIR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820220174

Hard drive = $50
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?item=N82E16822136075

Case = $50 There is a coupon code out there for free shipping on this case i believe
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16811119068

PSU = $50
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817371005

DVD Drive = $33
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?item=N82E16827106070

OS = $112
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?item=N82E16832116204

Video Card = $159 w/$15 MIR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814130084

Total Price = $768.91 Shipping = $29.81

Grand Total $798.72 W/$45 MIRs

I dont think you can get much better than that with your budget. Personally i would save up for a month or 2 and get a GOOD PSU

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/...jsp?ProductCode=373100

a little bit bigger hard drive (considering its only like 10-15 more for a 250gig with 16mb buffer)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16822144701

and possibly an E6550.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16819115030

So basically save up about another $150 and you could have a pretty kick ass mid level rig!
