Building my First PC

Good luck on your build and maybe "Black Friday" may hold some great deals for you.

Buy what you need and be happy. You got PM.

I have the same case - I like it. It's light, has decent room, quiet fans.

The 6600 is an awesome processor. Are you planning on doing a serious OC at some point? You may want to spend a little more and get some faster memory.

Just built a C2D myself a few days ago with that case and video card.
The video card box doesn't say it's "vista ready" but it's not like it won't work with vista.

The case is OK but isn't the best in the world. One thinng I can tell you is to put the power supply in before the mobo.

I would get a better case. Lian Li make some of the best around, the PC-7B is currently a great deal.

Change the Video card to this Gigabyte 7950 GT. It's the chipset but includes a Zalman VF-700 stock for no additional price.

I don't see the need for anywhere near 500 wats but.....Seasonic > OCZ.

Lastly I would drop the X-Fi and use the HD-Audio on the Abit board.

Everything else looks very solid.
