I've heard and am pretty sure that for hard drives over ~137 GB you need the special controller card. Other wise they will be recognized smaller.
I've heard numerous accounts saying that.
The issue isn't ATA 100 or 133, it is the SIZE of the drive.
I'm getting different replies regarding ata 100/133. Some are saying that I need the card to install larger drive, some are saying that I don't and the 100 will do just fine.
Now, my drive is only showing 125GB so I guess I am going to use the card.
