Just like the title says gentlemen. I'm building a gaming pc, I don't intend to overclock, I'm looking to spend about $450, MAYBE $550 for the mobo and cpu ONLY. I'm not looking for anything that has wifi or bluetooth, but I'll consider it. I've been reading through some of these forums and I'm convinced that an AMD processor is the way to go. Some of the other parts I'm considering are an SB Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (MAYBE an X800 Pro), and a WD WD2000jd. But for now, I just need good suggestions on a powerful processor and mobo combo. Any help will be appreciated!!!

There are 1,000 system threads here, 900 of them including A64 motherboard recommendations.

Sorry if that seems harsh, but did you read any of those 1,000 threads before posting? And did you click the Guides tab at the top of this page?

That looks like a fine combo. 939 will give you slightly better perforcmance, but honsetly, I don't think it's worth the $$ at this point. I've found that whenever I upgrade my CPU, I upgrade the board too, so it's kind of pointless to worry about socket longevity. If I were building a system from the ground up today, I'd save $$ and get that combo and use the $$ to buy a 6800GT. If you have money to burn, the advantage to 939 is higher CPU speed (but for more $$).

Oh, and sorry to flame you on your first post, but like ram questions, it is overasked here.
