no need for that sound card or any for that matter for the speakers youre getting, also that power supply is a POS only 15a on the 12volt rail get somethign from antec like a smartpower 500w or a true power 480 they are around $75 but they are worth it.

ya, the recommendation list was slightly old and said nforce 3, ill look into that, ill get a lower end sound card.
But, why not the faster processor? i noticed it was very cheap is there something wrong with it?

The cpu is socket 754, that's what's wrong with it. You don't need a sound card if you ard getting those speakers.

that's not what's wrong, 754 is outdated. You should get 939 for much more future proofing.

Get Socket 939, and nForce4.

-Coolermaster Cavalier 3 ($55)
-Antec Smartpower 400W ($55)
-EPOX 9NPA+Ultra ($105)
-X800XL ($250)
-2x512MB Corsair ValueSelect ($80)
-3000+ Venice OEM ($117, I saw an excellent deal somewhere)
-XP-90 + Panaflo L1A 92mm ($50)
-Seagate 120GB ($85)
-BenQ DVD Burner ($45)
-Floppy ($5)
------------
$847

You've got about $500 left. Spend about $300 on the monitor. $60 on keyboard/mouse. The other $140 on sound card + speakers.

no you need a real PSU a good one for you'd probably be a xclio 450w $53 @ newegg. or check out some of fortron or enermax's offerings.

Potato... case + PSU + keyboard + mouse + speakers for $45 is scary. All are going to be crappy at that price.

You can skim some cash off from the ram. You can get corsair valueram or something like it for $80.

I know you're already looking, but I think the major thing is to get a better PSU/case.

Look at Antec for combos otherwise get a name brand PSU and whatever case you want.
Seasonic, OCZ, Fortron, Sparkle, Antec, Enermax, etc. for PSU.

For $30-ish speakers, I think x-230s would be a better option.

Thanks for typing that up :D.

Here we go:
CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB)
Read the first thread on the CPUs, Processors and Overclocking forum and you'll want Corsair ValueSelect.

AG Neovo F-419 (R12) Black 19" 12ms LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 500:1 0.294mm Pixel Pitch
Haven't heard of this company. I generally buy Viewsonic products.

ALTEC LANSING VS2220 5 Watts RMS
You sure you want 5W speakers? ..... Try the Logitech X530's ;).

LITE-ON Black 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM
Yo.... get a BenQ DVD Burner as opposed to a DVD ROM.
