Building Gaming Server Need Help

Hey guys I'm looking to build a gaming server off of newegg preferably 2 cpu's preferably AMD, and 2 gigs of ram. Never built a server before but have built like 50+ pc's so it cant be much different. If you guys can just give me some reccomendations id appreciate it. Thanks a million.
 
you do have a connection that you can assign static IP's for right (legally, comcast told me i'm not allowed, but it still works 😛 )? the kind that cost 100's a month
 
Also if we do decide to just get a dedicated box any places to suggest to buy from (preferably a place with a chicago datacenter)? Thanks a lot...
