Hey I have a computer made right here and want to see your guys input...

MY CURRENT PARTS I HAVE PICKED OUT THUS FAR

Processor
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939

CPU Fan
Thermaltake K450 for AMD Athlon 64 processor upto FX57 X2 4800+

Memory
Corsair XMS Extreme 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR 400 Timing 2-3-3-6

Video Card
Geforce 6800GS 256MB/256-BIT GDDR3 PCI-E(EVGA)

Sound Card
Onboard Realtek ALC850 8-Channel

Hard Drive
Seagate Barracuda 120GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache SATA NCQ
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm an avid gamer but my game is counter-strike 1.6 and I got 100fps even with 3-4 smokes with my Radeon 9800pro 256mb. I do not play any of the 'new' high end games (well rarley) becuase I am just strictly 1.6.

-Do you think anything should be upgraded?
-Even though I just play 1.6 do you think it would be worth getting the 7800 for the future so I dont have to upgrade later or should I just wait.

Hope to hear great responses!

I think you could ditch the hardware you're buying (i.e. expensive ram) to OC your cpu, thus not OC'ing your cpu, and put that extra money into a 7800 GT and get better performance. $$ in front of hardware would help.

-Use the stock heatsink.
-Get an Opteron 144.
-Case? Drop the 500w, grab a 450w smartpower that is comboed with the sonata II
-Get Corsair Valueram :)

Get Cheaper Ram and consider getting 2gb
Consider Opteron 144 instead(make sure it's 939)
Go for the 7800gt if you can, there's a deal on it at the egg where it's $270 after rebate(check hotdeals forum)

The GS looks to be $190-205 depending on the brand, I'd say spend the extra $70ish on a 7800gt for sure.

he's playing CS people, not fear. if you can get an opty 144 (which i doubt) go for it.

try getting 2gb of value ram over the 1gb XMS ram

are you planning on OCing at all?
