hey,

building a system for my uncle, bare bones cause he already has a regular system...he needs this one for just word processing basically...

this is what is in it:
AMD K6-III 333mhz
Soyo EMA+
ATI 3D Charger
Sony 48x
64MB PC133
Seagate 720MB HD <--pulled it out form his really old computer that doesn't work anymore
---------
i got all the above stuff already...its all built so don't say anything about how the stuff sucks, thanks

when i boot up, it goes all the way to "Verify DMI Pool" and then i get a blue box that says:
Copyright 1993, 1994 Micro House International
Maximum Overdrive
528 Million byte Drive Support
Custom Drive Support

and then under it:

PART ERR, press return to reboot

and then the same thing happens when i reboot, anyone know what the hell is going on?

if you have any other questions that might help you figure out what the problem is please ask...thanks

Looks like you have a had drive that has a proprietary LBA setup that needs to be removed. Try running FDISK, then start over . . . format etc. You can't usually take a hard drive from one system and expect it to be right for another without a lot of changes and fussy tweaks. The easiest thing is to start clean.
