Building a rig

Hello, I thought I would post to get some opinions and advice. I currently have a rig that ive had for a couple years that I am looking to upgrade.

Current Specs
AMD 64 x2 dual core 4200 2.2ghz
3.5gb memory
Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX
Sound Blaster xtreme gaming edition sound card

Thats my current rig, I was thinking of just upgrading the processor, mobo, and ram to this

Looks pretty good overall, I would just double check that your PSU has the necessary connectors to supply the correct power to the Mobo, the CPU and other components. Some motherboards require 24 pin power connectors, others you can get away with a 20+4 power connector, even CPU power is different between motherboards. Some are 4 pin, others are 8.

Other than that make sure you have an adequate heatsink that will handle the Phenom II and you should be all set.

If your X2 4200 is a socket 939 you should resell it on eBay - those things are bringing major cash these days over there (short supply of the s939 duals).

And your new parts look nice, should be a seriously noticeable upgrade from your current stuff.
