Not particularly practical, but a cute project nonetheless. Scroll down the article for lots more photos.

Very cool. I'd love to attempt something like this, but if I mess up either console I don't really want to have to replace them.

Thats pretty damn cool. A lot of work went into that, and makes my brain hurt thinking about figuring that all out.

Hmm, I've taken apart both consoles in the past to make repairs (replace laser on PS3, x-clamp mod on 360), and I'd imagine that taking apart the consoles wouldn't be too bad. I'd assume fabricating a case with all the right holes would be the biggest pain.

I can respect the chops it would require to assemble something like this, but other than to prove it can be done is there any good reason for it?

If you've ever customized anything for yourself then you would instantly understand. Plus, most people are impressed by modifications like this, unless of course they are pricks. They'll find a reason to hate anything.

I might sit down and read that whole article... TBH it looks a little TOO detailed.

One box to rule them all?

It's pretty obvious... less clutter, less space taken up by 2 consoles, and the fun of making something.

I wouldn't really say it takes up less space. If he had it lying flat then it would be more portable and convenient but put into a PC case like that makes it more cumbersome.

The one way it could take up less space is if he had integrated an HDMI switch such that the two consoles could share one monitor.
