Is it possible to build a NB like you can normal PC? I know that there are barebone systems out there, but can you pick the LCD screen and diferent case.. to what extent is it possible to do.?
 
No you can't, as most come as white box which is mobo case lcd and such, all you can install is the mem hdd processor and that is about it.

Most NB devices are engineered in a proprietary way. This makes them hard to standardize. By not producing standardized NB's they can charge more.
