Building a new system..

I'm going to be putting together a new system very shortly (my first, woo). Pretty much everyone here seems quite knowledgable, so I figured I'd run it all by you guys before I ordered it. Here's the list:

Athlon 1.33GHz
ASUS A7M266
2x256mb PC2100 DDR
IBM GXP60 40gig 7200rpm
Maxtor 80gig 5400rpm (storage)
Visiontek Geforce3
Plextor 16/10/40 cdrw
Toshiba 16x dvd
SBLive 5.1 Platinum
431watt Enermax PS
Full tower case

For cooling I'm gonna use a Thermoengine w/ a delta fan, and a slot fan too.
On the NIC side, an Intel nic will work fine w/ the Athlon, right? I know it should, but you never know if a company will design something to only work with certain configurations (MS).

Thanks in advance for any input.

Get a Epox 8K7A motherboard, that is what I'm using
and it was also my first system and it's working
beautifully. Very stable. If you're into gaming and a
lot of connections then get the Hercules Game Theater XP
instead of SB 5.1 Much, much better sound, I think.

Sweet Man, thats a kick ass Rig.

I would agree with yazman about the Epox Board. From what Ive read, its probably the best DDR mobo on the market.

I would also substitute the Visiontek for the Asus V8200 Pure or Deluxe. In Canada, the Asus is actually cheaper than the Visiontek card. Here in Vancouver, The V8200 Pure is $579 and the Visiontek is $629 !!!

Im building a semi-similar rig to that one, Ill post the sepcs on it about a week or so before I build it.
