I'd go with a 400w+ PSU for that CPU and graphics card.

Other than that, I'd say either system should rule. You don't really need the 2-2-2-5 memory though... check out So's PC3200 Mem. guide.

Why are you comparing a $350 AMD to a $200 Intel processor? What will you be using the computer for? I have read here that high dollar memory is not worth it in the price/performance comparison.

I suggest at least a 400W PSU. More importantly, make sure there is plenty of amperage on the 12V rail. Most stock, generic PSUs come with maybe 12 amps. To drive a high power system like you're building, you'll want at least 16 amps, more if you plan to expand later. Many instability problems are caused by low quality PSUs, so I suggest a high quality supply. Personally, I have an Antec SL450 which has never given me any problems and supplies 18+ amps (can't remember exactly off the top of my head).

Other than that, your setup looks awesome. I've always preferred AMD myself, but either of these systems will give you great performance.

The 3500+ will destroy the 3.0C in games. As for the memory, dont waste your money on flashy stuff, low latencies, etc. Some PC-3200 CAS 3 or 2.5 will be fine. With such a powerful processor and a 6800GT, you might want to look into a nice Antec 380 watt (or greater)power supply. Maybe just get the $98 Antec Sonata?
