Building a new system, need some suggestions....

I am building a new system, not high end system

these are some hardware that i don;t have any idea if they are good for the money

Asus A7M 266
SBLive!
GF2 MX/ ATI Radeon 32DDR
256mb DDR ram

I already have a processor, hardisk, CDRW.....

please give me some advices...

You may want to consider a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz or somthing similar instead of the soundblaster. I have heard of some problems with the soundblaster and the Santa Cruz sounds like a much better card.

If you're going to be doing any gaming, you may want to reconsider the GF2 MX.

It sounds like you are on the right track. The mobo you selected is a little pricey, I guess because it is ASUS (they like to get a premium for their name like Sony). Maybe consider an Epox EP-8K7A for less money. If you save money there, you could put the money into a higher end video card like GF2 GTS or Pro instead of MX.

Epox 8K7A or MSI K7 Master would be better than the Asus. And for video card, why not get a Radeon LE? And also, RAM is so cheap, get 512MB.

i am in Malaysia now and I guess Asus will not be so much difference in price with others....

and for the santa cruz sound card... i can't find any in Malaysia....

and one more question... is the Radeon LE better than the 32DDR??

Get ur stuff from newegg.com...for mobo: epox 8k7a - 120.00...with the money you save...get a leadtek geforce 2 64mb GTS PRO...i think like 170. SB Live is okay...i used to have trouble on my asus earlier w/ the SB LIVE...but not on my epox setup.

Its not price. Its features, both of those boards have much more features than the Asus.
