I think that's everything, a little over your budget but way better than what you were initially looking at, video card wise at least-
believe me, you're going to wish you had an X1800XT, not a X850XT, when new games like UT2007, Oblivion, ect........ come out.

Extelleron's build is really nice. Although you could always get DFI Infiniti for $90 and invest the rest into a DVD burner or even Opteron 165. Otherwise, it's as good as it gets for $1000.

I might get the X1800XT and go over the budget a little. But I don't see the need for DFI; keep in mind this is my first build. I have never OCed in my life. I think I will stick with the EPoX.

Yeah he might want to get a cheaper motherboard than the Ultra-D. I recommend that motherboard for it's overclocking ability, but since he isnt oc'ing, get something cheaper. I also wouldnt get an Opteron 165 either, the X2 3800+ is a bit faster and a bit cheaper since he won't be oc'ing.

Just thought of something, do you need Windows XP?

In my OP, I mentioned that I have a HD with windows installed, so no need for a new one. I'm now considering the X1800XL for $300. Is the X1800XT worth the extra $50? The X1800XL seems to compare with the 7800GT and even with the 7800GTX with AAx6 on.

X1800XL=16pp/8vs, 500/1000

the x1800xt is almost as good as the x1800xt crossfire (ATI version of SLI). but the x1800xt is 2x the price of the x850xt so it's up to you OP. here's a link to the benchmarks for the X850XT, X1800XL, X1800XT, 7800GT, 7800GTX, 7800GTX 512MB, and the SLI/CrossFire benchmarks for all of them except the X850XT. it should really help you in your choosing of the GPU for your rig. hope it helps
