Hi, I'm looking to build a mid-range computer for now but will definitely upgrade to better parts later down the road when more hardware are out. I'm looking to spend about $650 total and I mostly want it to do some gaming but not hardcore stuff yet. Gotta wait for Crysis to come out first =D Here's what I have so far

ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail $149.99

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+(65W) Windsor 2.2GHz Socket AM2 Processor Model ADO4200CUBOX - Retail $169.00

G.SKILL 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL4S-1GBPK - Retail $114.99

Thermaltake W0093RU ATX 12V 2.0 Version 500W Power Supply - Retail $79.99

ZALMAN CNPS 9500 AM2 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink - Retail $47.99

Western Digital Caviar SE WD800JD 80GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM $43.99 - Don't need a big one, cause I already have a 250GB I'm gonna put in it.

Gonna use an ATI X1600 Pro PCI-E that I'll get soon enough.

What do you guys think? I want to spend no more then $650 total.

Sure you can. Drop the X2 4200+ for an E6300 or E4300.
Drop the motherboard for a GA-965P-S3.
Drop the cpu cooler, the Intel retail fan is enough to OC fairly well.

How much will I be able to overclock with those parts?

Whats the differences between the DS3 and the S3?

You'll get a better OC than you would with the X2, that's for sure. :D

Do you think the Rosewill RP550V2-D-SL 550W SLI Ready-ATX 12V V2.01 Power Supply - Retail would be good enough to power the DS3 and E6400 if I overclock alot?

I wouldn't run a flashlight with a Rosewill PSU.
