I'm getting a AC7-G and a P4 2.8c /HT processor. SL6WJ COSTA RICA 3312A400-1282.

Is this a good model processor?

The case I have now is this http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=91082#
but mine doesn't have the front usb and firewire ports and it has window on the side now :).

I want to put a fan controller in, so what is the best out there right now and what fans have the option to be controlled by a fan controller. Preferably some with leds in them.

Next I need ideas on video. I haven't upgraded my old system in awhile and I'm using a Geforce 3 TI200 right now and it has been good to me but I'm going to be doing some light gaming and dvd ripping and burning so I think I can do better. What's a good card to go with this board that will do what I want?

What do you guys think of the XP-120 to cool this processor? I will be overclocking it.

As for memory, I'm thinking of using some G.SKill LE memory. Any thoughts on this? Good bad, Kick ass?

Thanks in advance for your input. These forums are great!!

Unless you have an extreme need for excess heat and wasted cash, AMD is better.

If you live in an area where electricity is expensive, the difference between a intel and amd is significant. Active PFC vs cheap psu is too.

Yes, electrical usage should be your main concern.
Given that... the 35W XP-M 2400+ is the only way to fly.

You know, if you live in Las Vegas the difference between an FX-55 and a P4 3.8 is $9 a month. (given 8 hrs of use a day) That's kind of significant over a year.

Edit: reread article.

Seriously though, what do you plan on doing?

AMD beats Intel senseless in gaming. and price. and heat.

I've never used Intel before. All my rigs I've built have been AMD but I wanted to try Intell for once. Is it just heat that's a factor? Does it consume that much electricity?
