I'm building a new computer and hope to keep the price under or around $1k. I will be reusing my monitor and floppy and dvd drive. I will be doing high-powered video gaming, programming, and simple tasks like web browsing. I'm not a "fanboy" of any company. I will overclock if it's worth it. Right now this is what I'm thinking of getting:

Case: NZXT Apollo Black $70
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 Allendale 2.2Ghz $130
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L $90
Video Card: BFG GeForce 8800GT $280 (local Best Buy)
Memory: G.Skill 2GB DDR2-800 $50
Power Supply: Xclio Stablepower 500W $70
Hard Drive: Western Digital 320GB $80
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium $105

+$30 keyboard

Total: $905

I also need a cpu cooler, which I need recommendations on. Please tell me what you think of my setup. I won't be back on until tomorrow, so hopefully I provided enough information. Thanks.

you might also want to consider a better case with a 120mm fan in the front. nzt isn't known to produce very high quality cases. you should look into cooler master, lian li, and maybe Antec.

i'd also drop that xclio psu for something from seasonic or corsair

I would recommend an Antec Sonata III or Sonata Designer over the cheapo separate case and PSU you have picked out there.

Agreed.

Also, 320GB Seagate for $59, check Outpost.com.

So wait, you are comparing a product you don't own to another you haven't received yet? The TT runs just fine without lapping and is superior to the AC Freezer 7 pro. Although the latter is a good cooler that is more affordable, it's not going to perform as well. Whether the $30 is worth it is up to the OP.
