Building a new gaming system...thoughts?

Hey guys! Been a while since I built a system....over 4 years now. It's served me well until recently, so it's time to make this my backup, and build a new rig.
Current rig is the first I ever built. I know enough to build a system, I'm not an overclocker or anything.

Current rig:
AMD FX51
Asus SK8V
GeForce 8700 GS (originally had a 9800XT till it died)
2 gigs Corsair XMS LL

Like I said, it's served me well and until the last year played everything I wanted on maxed settings for the most part. It's time to build a new rig so...

Thinking of the following:

CPU- Intel QX6850
MOBO - EVGA nForce 790i
Graphics - XfX GeForce 9800 GX2 Black Edition (possibly 2)
PSU - PC Power and Cooling 750W (if single GFX card, 1200W if dual GFX cards)
RAM - Undecided....
HDD - Raptor 75gig for OS/crap, Raptor 150 for games/crap
Case - Antec 900

Obviously not a budget build, but also not going all out. Should give me plenty of room for upgrades as well. Thoughts? Recommendations on RAM?

Thanks guys!

You should read this:

then post in this thread using the info laid out in this:

Some points: this is obviously a ludicrously expensive build and clearly you want all the performance placebos you can get. Be prepared for some frank advice.
The raptors are stupidly expensive for what you get. Get a Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black instead and get nearly the same performance, plus bundles more storage.
That graphics setup is overkill unless you're using massive monitors. A single 4870X2 would probably do just as good and cost less.
The 790i chipsets just plain aren't as nice as the latest intel ones; get a P45 chipset board like the Asus P5Q.
That CPU is not only the "xtreme gamerz lolz cash" version but not a 45nm quad core chip so for the huge money you're spending on it you could get something like the Q9450 instead and just overclock it (and it'll be cooler running and easier to overclock in terms of limits).
RAM: If not overclocking, get any decent DDR2-800; newegg has G.Skill 4GB for like $79 right now. If overclocking, get the G.Skill DDR2-1000 for $90.

Sorry, but this build is pretty crappy.

CPU - Way overkill, but I guess if you want go for it.
MOBO - The intel P45 chipsets are superior to the nVidia ones.
GRAPHICS - From everything I read, the 4870 or 4870x2 would be a much better choice
PSU - PC Power&Cooling isnt as good as it used to be. Corsair is a better choice
RAM - OCZ, Corsair, G.SKILL, Crucial
HD - Raptors are not worth it. Get a 1TB as mentioned above or teh 640AAKS
Case - Personal preference

It seems like you just picked all expensive stuff with little to no research. Sorry to be harsh, but I think you should do some searching and review reading and read the stickies.
