Hello, I know there are a lot of these threads but I haven't built a pc in awhile so I just wanted to make sure everything looked okay before I bought anything. Let me know if I should change anything. This is what I have so far...

corsair value select 1GB (2 512 sticks) pc2 5300

Lite-on 16x dvd burner
$40 at newegg

antec nsk3300
$80 at amazon

samsung 2010 printer
$80 at amazon

Logitech keyboard and mouse
$22 at newegg

video is integrated on motherboard. Uses nvidia 6150.

Total is about $650 so far.

I still need to get a monitor, but I'm reallly not sure what to get... I'm budgeting about $200 for an lcd, probably either a 17" or 19". I was hoping to get suggestions on that, as well as whether I should spend more on RAM or not. This machine is going to be for my sister in college mainly for papers and other school things. Thanks in advance.

That's a nice set of parts once you add XP Home or Pro, but are you going to be able to provide on-site tech support for her? If not, a Dell might make more sense.

A decent Dell desktop with monitor and legal copy of XP will be under $600, and a nice laptop can be had for under $700 (look at the E1405).

I would like to build it myself, even if it is not really any cheaper than a dell or some other prebuilt system. Thanks for the advice so far from everyone.
