1) Get a pretty respectable power supply. I wouldn't settle for whatever cheapie-cheapie unit gets thrown in with the case, unless it's maybe an Antec case that comes with a respectable Antec power supply. :evil:

2) I would get an Athlon64. Well, but if I were getting Intel, I would get the Northwood-core Pentium4, not the Prescott. So look for a 3.0
C. Lower heat production, more motherboard compatibility, faster MHz-for-MHz in most cases. Looking at Asus's
CPU-support chart you can see that only a revision-2.01 P4S800
with the 1009 BIOS or later would support the 3.0E Prescott.
