Here's my thoughts. There is no doubt about it that the higher end XP's are very competitve performance wise vs the P4's in their price range (ie 2200+ vs 2.26 and 2100+ vs 2.0A), and if you are not going to be ocing, then the XP's I feel are superior (the only benchmarks where the 2.26 and 2.0A have a sizeable advantage vs the XP's are SYSMark 2002 ICC and SSE2 3D Rendering) and I would go for them. And tos ettle the heat and stability issues, XP's can be cooled just as quietly and cost efficently as the P4's IMHO. And their platforms can be just as stable as the Intel platforms. So the big question (which you are already at) is do I want to oc, and to be honest, if I were building a system and had $130 or $180 to spend on a CPU, I would really prolly end up going for a 1.6A or 1.8A, but only you can choose whether to oc orr not. I think that an oc'ed P4 will live plenty of time as long as the vcore is kept at 1.65v or lower. Hope this helps, if u would like some more advice, give me a yell
