Okay.. I bought myself hte parts needed to make me a new computer and well, you guess it, I'm having problems.

I bought this motherboard :
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDe...-152-053&catalog=23&manufactory=BROWSE

And this Case :
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDe...-209-010&catalog=23&manufactory=BROWSE

I did buy more but this is where the problem lies.

The MotherBoard, well you know how they are, where the processor is has a seeming "Plastic Case" around it, and a screw through either end to hold it there through the motherboard, and the plastic part comes out the bottom in a 'lengthwise' shape.

The Case has a hole in the bottom of it for where this 'plastic processor cover'/thing should fit into -- but it's width-wise, not length wise. Example:

MBoard is -

While the hole in the case is actually...

Agh. What to do? I contemplated knocking a hole in it so it'd fit but that's silly

I have no idea how to make it fit....if I put the screws in with this problem remaining, it would bend the motherboard so that it's bowed in the middle and pushed down on either side, and I can't even get all the screws in as they don't reach the bottom. *Sigh*

Any suggestions, please?

I don't really know what your asking, but if your trying to screw the plastic heatsink retention bracket into the case, don't. It shouldn't be screwed into the case.

You should have to change nothing on the motherboard to install it. Just mount the spacers into the case, remove the motherboard from the bag, and put screws through the already open holes into the spacers.

hehe Sorry. That wasn't it at all, it's hard to explain. The Bottom of the motherboard itself has a bit of plastic sticking out, as in under where the CPU would sit. I am thinking this is how it is supposed to be, as the Case itself has a hole in it as if the Motherboard were supposed to have that bit of plastic sticking out. It's that, the plastic that is beneath the motherboard under the CPU ---- it doesn't line up with the Hole in the case, it is 'lengthwise', whereas the hole for the Case is width-wise. Sort of like Vertical and Horizontal...it just isn't matching up so the Motherboard is not getting close enough to put all of the screws in without bending the board (and im not interested in making it run, bent)

Many thanks! The holes are lining up perfectly now. This is my first time putting a system together from scratch, wish me luck. :) Specs will be as is below. Not the most powerful, but I'm thinkin' it'll at least run Doom3 fine. :D
