Buying a <$1000 amd 64 system from newegg, making sure everything everything so far is compatible, or wanting to know if there are better substitutes for similar prices. Also looking for advice on other components, i.e. the video card, and anything else I'm missing.

Jus make sure you get the 90nm Winchester > i recommend the 6800 gt for gfx

although 6600gt, if your short on funds, will play all games smoothly with some candy

A 6800GT would probably take up all the way up to >1000 bucks, so get the 6600GT, best card right now for the money (once they hit ~200, that is 🙂).

Not sure I'd trust the power supply on that case, a good PSU alone costs more than that.

If you like the look of the case, a Fortron PSU makes a good but cheap replacement, or if you want a quiet but not flashy case consider an Antec Sonata which comes with a good PSU.
