I have decided to try and build my own computer for playing MMORPGs and watching dvds. I know I don't want to clock the CPU or graphics card (mostly because I am not sure how and secondly I have heard lots of things like the games stopping etc). My budget is $1,100. What is good?

My main specs I need help with are the cpu, graphic/video card and motherboard. I feel that a pentium 4 3.4 looks good keeping in mind I don't want to clock either video card or cpu but I honestly have no idea. For power I need something that is about 500watt and dual voltage (115v-230v) so I can use it in UK as well as US.

thank you

For a gaming computer, it'd be better for you to go with an AMD processor. Generally cheaper and consistantly beat Intel with gaming in mind. I haven't been keeping up to speed lately on hardware so I can't be much of a help there, but $1100 should be fine for a pretty decent gaming rig.

I would say, for that price, I would get this:

AMD Athlon64 3500+
MSI, ASUS, DFI socket 939 mobo
7800gt or 7800gtx
At least 1GB of RAM (OCZ Platnium is best IMO)
DVD-RW
