Building a Duron system: What kind of memory do I need?

Hello all. :)

The topic says it all. I am not planning on overclocking my CPU.

Of course I will be picking up PC133 memory... but do I need to worry about what brand? ECC/Non-ECC? Buffer?

I was at a website earlier, about to order some PC133 memory, and it said, "Note: Does not work in Athlon systems". So that threw up the red flags, and now I figured I'd better make sure that I am indeed getting the correct type of memory.

Thanks!

Hmm, I have never heard of PC133 memory not working on an Athlon system. Any generic PC100 (what Iam using) or PC133 should work, since as you know your motherboard will let you run your memory at 100 or 133 no matter what your cpu is at.

I would just call the store you want to buy off and ask them why it does not work on Athlon systems. Then get back to us. :)

get the micron 133 mhz, There was a thread in hot deals some days about it. You can get it for about 130 from buy.com using the 30/150 coupon. It works well in my system. If you have extra money, get the mushkin high performance Rev-2.
