Hello this is my 1st post here... but ive been reading around here for quite a while.

anyway i am building a new computer in a few weeks and a few questions that have come up, i hope you could answer

Well firstly i have decided to build a very small PC, the case i have decided to use is the Lian-Li PC-42 which will have to use a Micro ATX board and a Micro ATX PSU.
The Micro ATX board i have picked is the Abit NV7M Micro ATX Nforce Motherboard. I wish to pair the motherboard with these components

-Athlon XP1800+
-2*256mb PC2100 DDR ram
-Leadtek Geforce 4 ti 4400
-40* Lite-On Burner
-200watt Micro ATX PSU
-60 gig HDD 7200rpm

Now the questions are:
Knowing that a PSU play a pivital role in a computer i wanna know if 200 watt would be enough for the components im using and if not there goes my small Lan box :( ( I am limited too 200 watt because ythats the highest Micro ATX PSU's go)
Also i know the Geforce 4's have a huge PCB and not sure if the bloody GFX card will fit into the case because it is very small.

Could someone please help me....... I shall offer treats to people who respond
----------Disclaimer------------
Treats will not be given out!!

I'm not sure how well that will work because I know that Geforce 4's like to suck up a lot of juice.

I know that my friend can't run all of his components at the same time because of his Geforce4:)

But, then again, this machine is probably not going to have as many things in it as his.

So, as far as my thoughts go, the fate of this machine rests on the compatibility of that darn Geforce:)

300w PS should be your minimum req for any Athlon system. Preferrably, you should have a lot more than that. I'm running an Athlon 1.33 atm with an Enermax 431w PS.

Have to agree, you'll need more power.
You should also pick a power supply that's AMD approved for the cpu that you'll be running as well as future upgrades.
Besides the power consumption, your system is going to run hot with the components you have. I would strongly reccommend a larger case to accomidate the extra fans you'll want as well as a better air flow.
FYI: I'm running a 400wt power supply, the 300wt that came with my case wasn't AMD aproved although it met the specs.
It burnt out on me over time. Spend a little more to do it right the first time. It's cheaper in the long run.

Hmmmm. I think a 1800+ and a GF4 Ti 4400 is a tad too much to ask for a 200W Power Supply. I dunno, maybe maybe not, we'd have to ask somebody to give it a shot. Otherwise tho, looks like a great LAN Box:) You mite be ok because you will only have 2 drives, but I would seriosuly ask somebody that has a 200W PS and has done this to try it before you buy anything

Yup, as already mentioned by the other senior guys here, that Power supply unit is a question mark. About a year or so back, I used to have a 250W PSU with a much lesser power hungry hardware (ATI Radeon 7500) and every so often the system would not boot. I went through a lot of pains, changing the power socket on the wall, changing the power cord, but it never struck me until after about 3 months that the power supply could be cause. Went out and bought a 300W PSU and haven't had 1 problem since.

Apart from that, I won't know much since I've hardly gone in the AMD direction.
