I bought an ASUS A7V mobo 900 t-bird 128 megs pc-133 ram asus DVD rom WD 10 gig hard drive and an sblive with 300 watt power supply i didnt get a video card that day cuz the one i wanted was sold it so i was gonna wait a day or two then grab the asus gf2 gts so i started to put it together that night i got the cpu ram and the vid card all hooked up then hit the power switch on the power supply and it would turn on there b4 i even hit the power switch on the case i would have to wait about 30 seconds then the it powered down by it self then i hit the power switch on the case then it turned on fine so i thought that was pretty weird then i went ahead and hooked up the dvd rom hard drive and the floppy then after that i would turn it on then it would freeze so i kept tryin over and over so i started over from scratch i finaly pulled out my dads video card in his pc a VD 3000 and popped that in instead of the matrox G-200 i was usin then the freezing stopped so i after i got the the other things on i would go to run setup for Win 98 and first time it said ERROR packed file is corrupt then i tried over and over again and every time it was something new most of them came up saying stuff like ESCD=00472 and a bunch of acsii text like it was doin stack dumps to so i was goin nuts and tried different ram n everything so it came down to callin the place i got the mobo from and over nighted it back to them they said they would do the same so i got a new ASUS A7V mobo today and i hooked my ram CPU then vid card to it and i get about 30-40 seconds b4 it locks up the reset or the power button wont even work either i gotta shut the power down on the power supply switch on the back when it freezes so i tried 2 other power supplys still does same thing so i again tried different ram and does the same thing then tried doin the CPU speed manully throught the jumpers on the mobo still no effect i am totally stumped i got it narrowed down so far now is the only thing to question is if the proccessors bad i dont know how to tell if it is so im decidin to just send it back and ask for a new one or take it to a tech and havem run there diagnostics program on it .....if anyone knows what this could be please let me know im having hell with this crap its so damn frustrating i should already have this baby runnin loadin up half life on it AHHHH

I'm freakin dizzy trying to read that. Try using a period to end a sentence please....

Go back over the mobo and the manual to make sure you have all the jumpers and connections set right... I would set Jen to jumper mode (not jumper free). It sounds like you might have the mulitplier and/or voltages off base.

Search the forums and look at the help guide Here also.
