Build Your Own Computer

Whats a good site that you can choose your own parts and they build it for you...i cant remember at the moment but i know i found a good one a while ago...lookin for fairly cheap too but with good parts...

Picking out hardware is the hard part. Building it is just a matter of mounting hardware with screws and clips and snapping things into place. It's kind of like Legos for adults 🙂 (not to say there is anything wrong with adults playing with actual Legos 😛).

And of course, the great people of this forum are always here to help if you get stuck.

Once you build your own you'll never go back. Once you figure out how it all goes together and how to troubleshoot it you'll have the best tech support on-call 24/7. 🙂

Of course, no one has recommended Newegg... but I will! 😀
Everyone always says "No... go to Monarch/ZZF" or whatever, but I can never find anything there. Newegg is great.

EDIT: Ok, I suck at reading, once again, although I think Newegg builds for you now (through ABS computers?)

thanks guy!! yeah i've run the calculations and i'll probably end up building it myself as it will be significantly cheaper...that is if i dont fry anything....I have built my own computer one time before and it turned out good but I had to spend extra money since I was new to it and didn't know about compatability and noob stuff like that haha...too bad I just bought a new computer a few months ago...sigh...i probably should have waited for the core 2 duo...its so tempting...but i'll probably have to wait a good year or so but i just wanted to get an idea ahead of time so i can start lookin now...i'm a big time planner 🙂

I've been looking on monarchcomputer and I really like that site so I'll probably use that in the future...however I am wondering what is "Fedora Core"...I see that as an option under the O.S. but I've never heard of it...Also monarchcomputers does build the computer for you right? if you do custom PC...just makin sure haha

Fedora Core = A Linux Distribution. Should save you some cash if you don't need/want Windows.

Monarch's ratings are in the trash right now.

Here is a tip to fix the compatibility errors: go to a forum like here, post your complete purchase list, and ask for compatibility problems, and advice regarding how you could improve it for the same price. Fedora Core is an Operating System. They use this on all of our thousands of computers at the college where I go. Don't purchase it from them. This operating system is a free download. So when you purchase the only question is if you need windows or not.
