Well its time for a new PC. I've been so out of the game that I have no idea on where to start.

So please can members help me out? The PC is primarily for games, under 1000 bucks. So the best gaming performance (don't really care about overclocking, but if there's a gem out there vid/proc wise then fine)

Thanks for any help...I'm so far removed from PCs I don't even know how to start.

Great sound card would be a plus.

-edit-
dang double post...can't build a PC, can't post on the internet. I suck at da intarweb.

Look, and search the Hot Deals forum for some parts (HD, ram, vid card)

Maxtor 60GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive, Model 6Y060M0, OEM Drive Only: 73.99
ATI RADEON 9600XT Video Card, 128MB DDR, 128-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP -RETAIL: 163.00

don't waste your money on those two. you want to try and get a hd for around 50 cents a gig. you can usually find a 160gb for around 90$ anyways. the 9600xt is a waste of money, spend 20$ more for a 9800pro because they will be able to handle future games MUCH better.
