So all items have been purchased, minus the HDD, but that is needed immediately. They are all in route or have already arrived, build below:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor Purchased
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Purchased
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Purchased
Storage: Samsung 830 Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Disk Purchased
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card Purchased
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case Purchased
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V Power Supply Purchased
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) Purchased
Monitor: ASUS 23 IPS Monitor Purchased

Now apart from MemTest and Prime95 what other stress testing software would be wise? IntelBurnTest worth running? The only GPU stress test I have ever run is FurMark, not sure if that is still the defacto? As there will be no OCing at time of initial build, is stress testing still necessary?

Would it be prudent to install all but the Dedicated GPU, build, install OS, and stress, then once the stress is complete, install the GPU and stress again with the GPU stress, or build the complete PC then stress, (regardless I will run MemTest)? Then any thing needed for the SSD?

I bought an CM 212 EVO, I've been looking for, but have been unable find, a recommend mounting solution. Should I try to mount it for the CPU fan to push the air to the rear exhaust fan? Or is it best to mount so the fan pushes the air up and out the top of the case, where at the moment there is no fan?

Again thanks for all your help.

To be perfectly honest, I don't even bother running any stress tests on a stock-clocked build unless I notice something out of whack. The programs you mentioned are all fine though. I'd just run a test with everything connected.

As for the HSF, I'd mounted it so that the air is flowing right to left, with the fan pushing air into the heatsink.

If there are no fans in the top of the case, I might consider blocking off the openings with something to help build positive pressure. It can help fight dust/animal hair etc.

Either way, pushing air through the heatsink towards the rear exhaust fan sounds optimal to me.
