oh sorry i didnt mention that im using this rig for video and audio editing so i actually need the 2600 as i use multi-thread applications.

if the sandy bridge's quick synch feature is something that is appealing to you then you'll have to get an h67 motherboard to take advantage of it.

Unless you are gaming, NVidia cards are best for Premiere Pro, which use the 4xx and 5xx cards for CUDA. An ATI card is pure idiotic for your purposes, and especially that price bracket when you're trying to cut costs...

Yes, but that is good ol' memory. After Effects only touches the video card if it's CS5, and it only touches it for CUDA Cores, which ATI cards do not have.

really? i know premiere pro CS5 uses cuda but i didn't know that aftereffects uses CUDA, thought it used OpenCL
