I'm trying to build a HTPC with the following guidelines:

* Cheap
* Low power
* Small
* Quiet
* Works with an older analog tv (i.e. has composite or s-video out)
* Runs XBMC on Linux well

What I have come up with is very minimalist, as I want to keep the price low. Just four items:

$41 - Winsis Wi-08 Black SGCC / ABS Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case 200W Power Supply
$80 - Intel BOXD945GCLF2 Atom 330 Intel 945GC Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU Combo
$16 - 8GB USB Flash drive of whatever brand
$22 - Patriot 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Desktop Memory

It comes to about $160 + $20 S/H which is obviously already very cheap, but I figured I'd post to see if anyone has any other suggestions, or perhaps knows of a really good deal on a larger USB flash drive?

I take it you don't need 720p video, or higher...? If that's the case, then it looks good to me!

Might want to add a cheap hard drive and DVD though... ;)

Antec ISK-300 around $65 shipped at ewiz right now: http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php...3d27891964a25790b4372c

Think it has 80 mm case fan and passively cooled external psu, so probably will be quieter than your case, with 60 mm case fan and probably 1 or 2 fans in psu.

Could also see if any sellers offering Bing Cash Back can net you even lower price.
