Just to share, after having learned about Pale Moon here, getting it, migrating everything FX to it, testing it, I fell in love with it.

Then, I got to the point where I wanted and was ready to uninstall FX given I no longer use it. Traumatic, cause I can't remember when I didn't run it.

Incredibly, getting rid of it turned out to be daunting! I could not uninstall it using Windows, Revo Uninstaller, or two other apps having uninstallers in them, including CCleaner. No uninstaller would run!

And, when I went into FX folder in programs and tried to get it done there......same deal.

So I finally did it the unapproved way.....deleting the whole folder manually, cleaning up the registry with two apps, and then going into the registry to delete any remaining Mozilla keys manually, tho there was only one left.

At each step, I tested my Pale Moon to make sure nothing I was doing was compromising it. It remained just fine.

Also saw complains all over the net from people who've had the same issue. Who knew?

If you have your Firefox profile imported into Pale Moon, then I would suggest uninstalling that too and clean installing Pale Moon, that way you ensure that the Pale Moon optimized settings are all intact and nothing from the shitty Firefox is there

Remember to put Tabs on Top in Pale Moon though (that's how I like it at least but it's a personal choice)

And that's a reason I don't use that Revo Uninstaller, never worked for me during uninstallation, its a POS IMHO

I use Geek Uninstaller which is free, doesn't monitor any installations, it just uninstalls normally, but then looks for all left over keys and files

But, Neo.....NO official, normal way of uninstalling worked! Had nothing to do with one app vs another app. Remember, all these apps employ the onboard uninstaller in the software we are trying to uninstall, s,o therein was the PROBLEM; the problem was within FX!!!

Also, I luved that migration of all my settings, saved PWs, etc, went immediately to Pale Moon from FX! And, now that FX is finally, totally gone, there is no need for me to fiddle with my now cherished PM.

But, nothing prepared me for the challenge of getting rid of FX! I could almost not believe it.

Cause FX does not know the word JIFFY. Is why.:| If moved, try to uninstall it yourself!

One marker for good software is how easily and thoroughly its uninstaller works. Never having uninstalled any build of FX before, again, I had NO CLUE of the reality in this.

PS, there was an exe file in the Mozilla folder called uninstall.exe. I hit it. Not only did nothing happen, it disappeared. Very creepy stuff.

See this, below? I found it, tried it....clearly, they seem to know their uninstaller don work normally, or else they would not have offered this after saying, just use Windows.....I tried the follow up and it did not work.

Just that after having done it the way I finally did, and running 2 reg cleaners, I then went into the reg to eyeball myself.....says a lot.

Seems I have been hooked up with the wrong browser almost forever. And, it DIGS IN!!!

One more, I also, in the midst of my growing frustration, read some thread somewhere where someone said turn off yr antivirus, download a new installer ,yr installation may be corrupt, etc.

But, by that time, I had had it with all things Mozilla, and so got it done the way I got it done.

glad you got that pile of crap off your PC bro

Mozilla was king a couple of years bakc, then they became the Sh!znit after they wanted to follow the Chrome path of releasing a new version every month, ignoring the essence of the browser and focusing on the stupid numbers

Pale moon will not have v25, 26, or 27

they will only have security updates every now and then :)

I am way gladdddder!():) And, I was running 24, not anything beyond.

But, I also do not believe they were trying to emulate Chrome, or that the updates were capricious. Remember, as it says on PM page, the bottom line goal for FX is compatibility with every system on the planet. You always sacrifice quality when your goal is quantity.

It all ended up compromising lean and mean and efficient, and it became overwritten. That's my take.

FYI, not long ago, when a famous model-socialite lived in my building--- she ended up moving to LA---Keanu would visit her often, we would see him in the lobby. They weren't hooked up; she was involved with some photographer, they were platonic friends.

Forgive me, but I don think the guy can act.

Pale Moon for the win!!!

If anyone would try it, they would switch to it forever!

The problem with many, is they don't give it a chance and continue to use the Fireshitz

I think this is prolly true. But, I had to see its reality increasingly for coupla weeks until I was clear on all of it. It's a JOURNEY.

I run 64, I luv it a LOT!!!!!!!

[FONT=&quot]Only part I hate is the icon....which cannot be changed. And, on the net, I was happy to see tons of people despise the icon and made a huge fuss about it. But that too was a gift, cause I finally learned I am not the only picky icon fanatic on the planet! :D:sneaky:

I cannot use the 64 bit version because it is not compatible with IE Tab I can't play games that I want on MSN Games .com

For me, Firefox had trouble displaying more and more websites properly. With each new version of Friefox, it would become harder to use. Today, I made the switch to Pale Moon and couldn't be happier.

I did side by side loading of websites repeatedly last night and IE loads the pages faster. Other than that I didn't notice anything else that makes me want to continue using this browser.

I honestly don't have issues with FF at all..any issues I have revolve around buggy ass flash or shockwave, but checking this out...so far not really seeing much difference (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

It is basically the same. It should come into it's own after Australis launches. They say they won't incorporate the changes, but it remains to be seen whether or not they can maintain a distinct fork.

I believe the differences are real and significant, starting with the basic philosophies.

Re future changes, there are no guarantees in life.
